Millions of travellers expected at DXB: plan ahead to stay on schedule
Dubai: Emirates advises travellers to be punctual during the summer peak at Dubai International Airport (DXB), the world's busiest international hub.
With over 2.6 million passengers expected in a month starting with Eid Al Adha holidays starting une 15, Emirates shares the following tips for smooth travel.
Arrival recommendations
Arrive at the airport: At least 3 hours before departure.
Pass through immigration: 1.5 hours before departure.
Reach your boarding gate: 1 hour before departure.
Enhance your experience with Emirates app
The Emirates app allows passengers to check-in online, manage flights, download digital boarding passes, get notifications, check meal options, pre-order meals, and plan in-flight entertainment. Online and app check-ins open 48 hours before departure.
With the busy Eid travel period upon us, @emirates customers flying out of @DXB are advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their flight, in order to complete check-in formalities and reach their departure gate on time.

Early luggage drop off
Travelers can drop off their luggage the night before at no extra charge. Bags can be checked in 24 hours before departure, or 12 hours if flying to the US, streamlining the journey through the airport.
City check in and travel store
Located in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the Emirates City Check-in and Travel Store offers early check-in from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. Services include self check-in kiosks, desks with Emirates agents, and even the world's first robot check-in agent, Sara.
Home check in services
For added convenience, Emirates offers home check-in in Dubai and Sharjah. DUBZ agents complete the process at the customer’s location and take their bags directly to the flight. This service is complimentary for First Class passengers and Platinum Skywards members.
Airport ttransport options
Complimentary train services between Concourse A and B, and shuttle buses between Concourse A and C, operate 24/7. First Class customers can request dedicated buggies, while Dubai Airport Buggies are available for all, prioritizing the elderly, families with children, and People of Determination.
Pre order duty free shopping
Emirates passengers can pre-order duty-free products from EmiratesRED.com, with items delivered to their seat during the flight. This service is available on most flights, with shopping open from 21 days to 40 hours before departure.
Assistance for people of determination
Dedicated support includes a pre-planning guide for Dubai International Airport, 2 hours of complimentary parking, and a priority lane for check-in, passport control, security, and boarding if needed.
